Kota or Kotah, situated on the banks of Chambal River, is the 46th most populous city in India and third most populous city in Rajasthan. The city located in the southeast of the northern Indian state of Rajasthan is with a population of over 1 million. Kota was once the part of the erstwhile Rajput kingdom of Bundi which became a separate princely state in the 17th century. It is one of the major coaching hubs of the country.

Over the years, Rajasthan’s Kota has become the leading coaching city of the country. In 2017, more than 39,000 students from Kota have cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), and 48 students among them have made it into AIR top 100. It was more than 35,000 aspirants in 2016. Allen Career Institute director, Brajesh Maheshwari, said, “Kota has once again proved its supremacy in JEE coaching as a large number of aspirants from the city have qualified for JEE Advanced.” The coaching business in Kota is also growing with the movement of time. The city, which sharpens the young minds for multiple national level examinations, has grabbed attention by making an annual turnover of 15 billion INR in 2017.
